Where psychology and understanding of the nature of the human soul actually meet

I would like to open a topic about some of 20th century's most prominent thinkers. I will start the  thread with some quotes from "Psychology and religion", a book by C.G. Jung concerning the symbols and influences of the religions of the western man.

"Psychology and religion", from pages 219 - 220 (with abridgement)

In Zosimos' day Saturn was regarded as a Hebrew god, presumably on account of the keeping holy of the Sabbath - Saturday means 'Saturn's Day' [18] - and also on account of the Gnostic parallel with the supreme archon Ialdabaoth ('child of chaos')[...].

The parallel between the Hebrew god and Saturn is of considerable importance as regards the alchemical idea of the transformation of the God of the Old Testament into the God of the New. The alchemists generally attached great significance to Saturn [21], for, besides being the outermost planet, the supreme archon (the Harranites named him "Primas"), and the demiurge Ialdabaoth, he was also the spiritus niger who lies captive in the darkness of matter, the deity or that part of the deity which has been swallowed up in his own creation. He is the dark god who reverts to his original luminous state in the mystery of
alchemical transmutation.

The priest (note - Christian priest)makes the sign of the cross three times over the substances with the thurible, twice from right to left and once from left to right [16]. The counterclockwise movement(from right to left) corresponds psychologically to a circumambulation downwards, in the direction of the unconscious, while the clockwise (left-to-right) movement goes in the direction of consciousness.
There is also a complicated censing of the altar[17].

personal note by PeaceYouth: this is one of the many excerpts from the book in which Jung questions Freud's materialistic so-called sexual theory based on instincts as unfull and not completely portraying the nature of the human being. As most of you may know, initially Jung was close with Freud but subsequently he began questioning his theory and afterwards created analytic psychology - a psychological school loosely connected with the understanding of the soul and influenced by esoteric tradition (Jung's father and uncle were Rosicrutians).

"if there were really nothing behind him but collective standards of value on the one hand and natural instincts on the other, every breach of morality would be simply a rebellion of instinct. In that case valuable and meaningful innovations would be impossible, for the instincts are the oldest and most conservative element in man and beast alike. Such a view forgets the creative instinct which, although it can behave like an instinct, is seldom found in nature and is confined almost exclusively to Homo sapiens."

    There is three crosses (in Astrology), one of which is the christian - Taurus to Scorpio /Leo to Aquarius. Just saying..
    Nice thread. I agree with most of Jung's conclusions.

    #Important: If you are INFJ Enneagram Type 4, you may be an actual ISFJ thinking they are intuitive. ISFJs and INFJs are very different, this will show in mannerisms and body language. To reduce this problem please learn the cognitive functions and learn about the differences.

    #Important: If you took Socionics before MBTI and got INFJ you are likely an INFP who thinks they are an INFJ through MBTI. INFJ Socionics and INFJ MBTI are completely different. This can be seen evident in thought process, essence and body language.

    As an INFJ Male myself, I have constructed this video as best as I can. I've gathered research and used my own thoughts and experiences on the matter to make it as accurate as possible. Some INFJs may be against this video and may not agree on aspects of it, but hopefully sums up the general INFJ type as a large percentage. Its a base idea, every INFJ is unique be we think and function in a similar way.

    This is purely observation. I know you can't sum up a type simply like that. Everyone is different and unique. Its almost impossible. But as a rarity which people are intrigued about, I've given a base image. Don't assume all of this to be correct of the INFJ type. But to some degree it is the aura, the energy and the essence we have.

    I am an INFJ, a nice one and an assertive one from England. I found out my personality type out of the other different 16 personality types quite recently. I am 18 and have studied psychology and readings about my personality type, both positive and negative. I have created this video to educate about the supposedly rare INFJ type. I am not glorifying it merely displaying it. I do not feel that the INFJ is above the other types. As these people are considered the 1% (1% to 3%) of the world population these people will naturally stand out from the crowd. That is all I am going to say on this matter. You read about this and decide for yourself. Do not judge before understanding the context and person.

    OP Comment: Why the mason Peterson doesn't mention the Jung's Red Book? The mason (what degree he have?) Peterson often talk about "the Order out of Chaos" stuff. At least it sound familiar to me. And again I ask: - Why he don't say a word about the Jung's Red Book - there is the essence of all Jung's teachings.What is hidden behind the "red-blue" duality Dr.Peterson? Why you never mention "the tribe"?
